No, Nintendo did not announce GTA 6 for Switch 2. Here's what was actually said.

In an interview with Variety published October 9, Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard was asked whether Grand Theft Auto VI could come to Switch 2. Her full answer:

“That's going to be a conversation for Take Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time.”

That's it. She didn't say yes and she didn't say no.

Some headlines have suggested Nintendo said the Switch 2 can run GTA 6. That line actually comes from Variety's writer, not from Pritchard. The article says the console “certainly has the horsepower to host the M-rated ‘GTA 6,’” and then adds that Pritchard “won't say if the title is coming to the platform.”

Pritchard did talk more generally about the kinds of games Nintendo wants on its console. “We have historically said that Nintendo is for ages 5 to 95, and that continues to be true,” she told Variety, adding that Nintendo wants “a diversity in terms of the types of experiences that you can have on the game system.”

The official picture: Rockstar's support page lists GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There's no Switch 2 version and no PC version. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has said anything about a Switch 2 port, so any claim otherwise is speculation.

GTA VI launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, 39 days from today.
