Spoiler-free. This is an unverified threat, not a confirmed leak. We won't link to the leaker's site or any footage, and we won't name or promote their cryptocurrency.

The GTA 6 leaker known as Cyberleek has escalated again. On October 10, according to Kotaku, Insider Gaming, Dexerto and Checkpoint Gaming, it posted a new “offer” on its website. The offer threatens to release a playable build of Grand Theft Auto VI that it claims includes the full story mode.

What the threat says

As reported, the notice makes two claims:

  • The trigger: if the leaker's own memecoin reaches a $30 million market cap, the build “goes out.” Kotaku quotes the notice as promising “full story mode, played to the end, credits and all.”
  • The “way out” for Take-Two: the notice says the leak can be avoided with “physical disks and a public apology.”

Insider Gaming notes that no deadline was attached.

What's verified, and what isn't

Verified: outlets have read and quoted the notice, so the threat itself exists. A roughly 25-minute video attributed to Cyberleek also surfaced on October 8.

Not verified: whether anyone actually has a complete, playable build. Dexerto notes that “there is no confirmation that a complete playable build exists.” Insider Gaming says many people speculate that the leaked footage comes from an older build, and adds that the threat “could be a bluff.” Kotaku calls it what “looks like round two of the rug pull,” pointing out that the leaker's coin crashed in late August after about $250,000 was apparently withdrawn.

The disc demand, explained

The ultimatum targets a real decision. Rockstar Support confirms that the physical version of GTA VI contains a download code, and “A disc will not be included in the box.” Boxed copies are expected at retailers from November 12, so buyers can redeem their codes for pre-loading.

Has Rockstar or Take-Two responded?

No, as of Sunday morning, October 11. Neither company has commented publicly. Rockstar's official X feed has posted only GTA Online updates since the threat appeared. In August, Take-Two sought subpoenas against Discord and Microsoft as part of an effort to identify the leaker, Kotaku reports. Kotaku adds that there has been no update since then.

Don't fall for “leaked build” scams

Whether or not the threat is real, the scammers will show up. Insider Gaming says it refused to link the leaker's site at all because “it could potentially contain malware.” Expect:

  • “GTA 6 full build” downloads, torrents or “PC versions.” Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version.
  • Early-access or “free” keys sold or given away outside official stores.
  • Requests to connect a crypto wallet or “buy in” to unlock footage.

Treat all of these as likely malware or theft. The only legitimate copies come from PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or the code-in-box version from real retailers.

GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, 39 days from today. We'll update this story if Rockstar or Take-Two responds.
