RUMOR: GTA 6 PC Reportedly Coming Q1 2027
GamesBeat says GTA 6 hits PC in Q1 2027, citing four anonymous sources. Rockstar hasn't commented or announced a PC version. Consoles still launch Nov 19.

This is a report, not an announcement. Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI. GamesBeat says the studio plans one for the first three months of 2027, citing four anonymous industry sources. The console launch is still Nov 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What GamesBeat reported
On Tuesday, Oct 13, GamesBeat's Alexander Lee reported that "Rockstar plans to release the PC version of GTA VI in the first quarter of 2027." The outlet says it heard this from "four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans, all of whom requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships."
GamesBeat says a Rockstar representative "did not respond to a request for comment prior to the publication of this article." It also notes the PC version "will have to pass the same quality bar as the console version" before release.
Who else is reporting it
The Verge, Polygon and Tom's Hardware all picked up the story the same day. All three credit GamesBeat and add no new sourcing:
- The Verge (Jay Peters) summarized the report, quoting GamesBeat's "four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans."
- Polygon (Austin Manchester) wrote that "Rockstar has not officially commented on its potential plans to bring GTA 6 to PC."
- Tom's Hardware (Oliver Haslam) called the report "far from official."
PC Gamer (Andy Chalk) and TechSpot (Julio Franco) also covered it the same day, with skepticism. PC Gamer said it "wouldn't get my hopes up too high" and noted Take-Two's next earnings report is Nov 9, a possible moment for news. TechSpot said Rockstar hadn't responded to requests for comment.
So this is one report, repeated, not several independent confirmations.
Why it would be fast for Rockstar
GTA V came out on consoles in September 2013 and reached PC in April 2015, about a year and seven months later, as GamesBeat, Polygon and The Verge all note. A Q1 2027 PC launch would cut that gap to a few months.
GamesBeat's reasoning: PC players would grow the audience for a game with a budget it says is "rumored to exceed $2 billion." It also points to Rockstar's 2023 purchase of Cfx.re, the team behind the FiveM roleplay platform, which runs on PC. That's GamesBeat's analysis, not a Rockstar statement.
What's confirmed
- Consoles: GTA VI launches Nov 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (Take-Two).
- No PC version announced. Rockstar Support lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- No streaming to PC at launch. Xbox's Matthew Ball said the game "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC" (via Pure Xbox).
- November still on track, per Rockstar. In a Famitsu interview published in August, Rockstar North's Rob Nelson said the game "will definitely be released on time" (Game Rant's translation).
Has Rockstar responded?
No. Rockstar didn't respond to GamesBeat before publication, and Polygon says it hasn't commented. Rockstar's official X account posted only a Red Dead Online update on Tuesday. We'll update this story if Rockstar or Take-Two says anything.
Why to stay skeptical
Four anonymous sources is real reporting, not a random forum post, but it's still unconfirmed, and timelines change. GamesBeat itself notes that Rockstar has already delayed GTA VI twice. Don't buy hardware on the strength of this report. Wait for an announcement.
