CAN YOU PLAY GTA 6 ON PC ON NOVEMBER 19?

The short answer: no. Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar has not announced a PC version. A report this week briefly suggested cloud streaming could get PC players in on day one. Xbox shut that down within hours. Here's where things stand, 42 days out.

WHERE GTA 6 IS CONFIRMED

Rockstar's own store lists two platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation's product page adds that the game "will only be playable on PlayStation 5 consoles," including the PS5 Pro, and will not come to PS4. Pre-load starts November 12, according to Rockstar's store.

THE STREAMING REPORT, AND XBOX'S DENIAL

On October 6, The Verge's Tom Warren reported that Xbox CEO Asha Sharma told employees Microsoft was preparing something around GTA 6 that "no other platform holder is doing." Citing sources, The Verge said this was a game streaming rights deal for Xbox Cloud Gaming, and it first described the deal as exclusive. Xbox Cloud Gaming normally runs on PCs and in browsers, so fans took that as a way to play on PC at launch.

Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball then posted on X: "While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC."

The Verge added a correction stating that "Xbox has clarified that its streaming deal isn't exclusive and Grand Theft Auto VI won't be streamed to PCs." Warren stands by part of his report. Vice quotes him: "Well I reported it would be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming, and you'd normally assume that means PC and web clients can access it."

WHAT'S STILL UNCLEAR

Ball didn't say whether GTA 6 will be on Xbox Cloud Gaming at all. The Verge suggests the deal may cover Xbox consoles only. PC Gamer asks how Xbox could stream the game without PCs being able to reach it. Microsoft hasn't explained.

If cloud play does arrive, it will come with limits. Xbox announced on September 3 that starting in November, Game Pass Ultimate gets 15 cloud hours a month, Premium gets 10 and Essential gets 5, with extra hours sold through the Xbox Store. Xbox also plans a pay-as-you-go option for people without Game Pass to stream eligible games they own. Pricing details are due in November.

WAYS YOU CAN AND CAN'T PLAY ON NOVEMBER 19

• PS5 or PS5 Pro: Yes.
• Xbox Series X|S: Yes.
• PS4: No, according to PlayStation.
• Native PC version: None announced.
• Streaming to PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming: Not at launch, according to Xbox's Ball.
