Miami Is Turning Into Vice City

Wynwood murals, Kaseya Center signage, wrapped cars, beach branding and fictional radio ads are turning real Miami into GTA VI's Vice City.

Miami does not need a map marker to show where Vice City begins. In Wynwood, original GTA VI artwork is painted across real walls. Downtown, the Kaseya Center carries Vice City signage. A few blocks away, a Grand Theft Auto wrap covers the side of Hotel YVE, while reported sightings keep adding wrapped cars, beach branding and fictional businesses to the streetscape.

Some of this is an announced partnership. Some is reported marketing that Rockstar has not individually confirmed. Keeping that line clear matters — but the combined effect is hard to miss: the real city that inspired Leonida's capital is being dressed, piece by piece, as its fictional counterpart.

Start in Wynwood: the game is on the walls

Rockstar Games and Wynwood Walls announced their partnership on Oct 13. Ten murals using original artwork commissioned for GTA VI went up across Wynwood, produced by Goldman Global Arts. The artists are ATOMIK, Tatiana Suarez, Askew One, DENIAL, FAILE, Gons and Audet, Lady AIKO, Queen Andrea, Ron English and Tristan Eaton.

Tristan Eaton's mural is on the Wynwood Walls campus; the other nine are around the surrounding neighborhood. The murals remain on view through Jan 1, 2027. Wynwood Walls says the same artwork appears in-game in Stockyard, the district inspired by Wynwood.

The partnership also has a practical local benefit that will outlast the launch campaign: Miami-Dade County residents can receive free admission through 2028 with qualifying identification. Our separate Wynwood Walls story has the sign-up details.

The transformation spills across the city

At Kaseya Center, “Welcome to Vice City” signage is in place ahead of the Miami Heat's A Night in Vice City on Nov 18. That event is confirmed by the Heat and is the clearest arena-scale piece of the campaign.

Hotel YVE adds the skyline version. Portal Viciados' photo guide documents a building-sized Grand Theft Auto wrap on the hotel's facade — not a poster in a lobby, but the game title scaled to the building itself.

The street-level layer is broader and less uniformly confirmed. Our Miami marketing tracker has followed reported wrapped cars with Leonida plates and in-game liveries, downtown banners, and Miami Beach branding. Miami's approved plan includes discreet Vice City and VI branding on Boucher Brothers beach chairs and umbrellas between Oct 15 and Dec 31. Rockstar has not announced the wrapped-car convoy or confirmed that it paid for those cars, so the tracker keeps that item labeled reported.

Even the fictional businesses are showing up

Digital kiosks have become another place where the two cities overlap. Insider Gaming, working from photos, reported kiosk ads and billboards for parody brands that exist inside GTA, including the Vice City Manatees, Pfister, Kowalski and Kronos. No Rockstar logo is visible in those sightings, and Rockstar has not commented on them.

Portal Viciados' Miami guide also documents kiosk screens for COCOTEO FM and VICE CITY FM, two fictional radio brands. That is a neat piece of world-building — the stations you would expect to hear in Vice City are being advertised on real Miami screens — but the station sightings should be treated as reported, not Rockstar-confirmed. CyberGrokr's tracker makes the same distinction for radio-station kiosk ads.

What is confirmed, and what is not

  • Confirmed: the Rockstar × Wynwood Walls partnership, the 10 murals, the Jan 1, 2027 viewing window and free Miami-Dade resident admission through 2028.
  • Confirmed: the Heat's A Night in Vice City event at Kaseya Center on Nov 18.
  • Documented in photos: the Kaseya signage, Hotel YVE wrap and Wynwood murals in this story, all credited below.
  • Reported: wrapped cars, some kiosk advertising and other individual sightings that Rockstar has not separately announced.

That mix is why the transformation works as more than a billboard buy. A partnership put game art into the neighborhood that inspired Stockyard. The Heat put the fictional city's name on a real arena event. Then the visual language started appearing on buildings, vehicles, screens and beach furniture. Each confirmed piece makes the reported pieces easier to understand, even when they still need a label.

For the running, source-by-source list — including pushback from Miami-Dade officials and items we are not counting yet — keep the GTA VI Miami marketing tracker bookmarked. It is where new sightings land first and where the confirmed/reported line is maintained.

GTA VI launches Nov 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
