GTA 6 Pre-load Moved Up to Nov 10 for Digital Orders, Needs Up to 212 GB

If you pre-ordered GTA VI digitally, you can start pre-loading on Tuesday, Nov 10. That's two days earlier than the Nov 12 date on earlier order forms. The file needs up to 212 GB, and the game still launches Nov 19.

New pre-load times

GamesRadar+ quotes a new Rockstar post with these times:

• PS5: "digital pre-loading on PlayStation 5 will begin on Tuesday, November 10 at midnight local time in your respective time zone." The PlayStation Blog also says pre-download for pre-orders starts "November 10 local midnight."
• Xbox Series X|S: "pre-loading begins globally on Tuesday, November 10 at 12 a.m. GMT." In the US that's 7 PM ET on Monday, Nov 9.
• Code-in-box versions: per Rockstar, these "should be available from retailers beginning November 12."

How big is it?

Rockstar says the pre-load file "will require up to 212 GB depending on your device" (via GamesRadar+). The PlayStation Blog tells PS5 owners to clear "a minimum of 212GB." GamesRadar+ notes that PS5 and Xbox sizes may differ slightly. It also points out that the PS5 size was earlier reported as 210 GB, and that pre-load and final install sizes can differ.

What to do

1. Free up 212 GB now. Treat this as the minimum and leave some headroom for updates.
2. Check that your pre-order is digital. The Nov 10 date covers digital pre-orders only. Code-in-box buyers should expect their codes at retailers from Nov 12.
3. Know your time: PS5 pre-loads open at midnight on Nov 10, local time. Xbox pre-loads open at 7 PM ET on Nov 9.

Also new

GamesRadar+ reports two more items from Rockstar:

• A pre-load FAQ.
• A double-sided poster of the cover art and map on Rockstar's merch store. It costs $1 on its own, or comes free with another purchase.

We haven't opened Rockstar's own post, so the quotes above come through GamesRadar+.
