Throw the horns, Leonida. Grand Theft Auto VI has a metal station, and the DJs are two founding members of Slayer.

The Chamber 106.6 was one of the six stations Rockstar revealed on October 8. It's hosted by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom, voiced by Kerry King and Tom Araya. Rockstar's Newswire sets the tone: "Crushing metal has landed in Leonida. Jump in the pit with DJ Kerry and DJ Tom for decades of timeless metal anthems as they channel Leonida's deep metal roots."

The riffs so far

Rockstar's press release names three songs for the station:

  • Black Sabbath – "I"
  • Pantera – "I'm Broken"
  • Slayer – "Raining Blood"

That's Dio-era Sabbath, Pantera at their nastiest, and Slayer's ultimate pit-starter. Loudwire dates them to 1992, 1994 and 1986. You can hear a preview of about two minutes on the Music page of Rockstar's GTA VI site. According to Revolver, the hosts promise to "play metal and metal only," with "no rules, just riffs." Loudwire caught Araya saying, right before "Raining Blood" kicks in: "The world's a heavy place. Give it the thrashing soundtrack it deserves." Loudwire also reports that SiriusXM's Caity Babs and Liquid Metal's Shawn the Butcher can be heard in the preview.

The two Slayer founders gave statements to Revolver. Araya called The Chamber "a new metal station for players and fans who like it fast and heavy," and said "Slayer and GTA's aggressive and unapologetic style of chaos makes for a whole lot of fun." King kept it short: "GTA X Slayer. A true match made in Hell! Let the onslaught begin!"

The full host roster

Here are all the hosts announced so far, with their voice actors as listed in Rockstar's press release:

Rockstar says more stations are on the way. You'll be able to blast The Chamber on foot as well, because GTA VI adds headphones and earbuds that connect to Jason's and Lucia's phones. The full lineup is in our radio stations guide.

GTA VI launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That's 39 days from today.
