How Big Is GTA 6? PS5 Download Reportedly 210 GB, Not Yet Official

GTA 6 is reported to be a 210 GB download on PS5, but that number comes from a PlayStation Store tracking account, not from Rockstar or Sony.

Where the 210 GB figure comes from

Reported, not official. On Oct 27, the PlayStation Game Size account, which tracks PlayStation Store listings, posted that Grand Theft Auto VI has a 210 GB download size for the Standard Edition, with pre-load on Nov 12 and release on Nov 19. Several outlets picked it up:

• Insider Gaming says it "can corroborate this information" and notes the size could still change, especially with a day-one patch.
• GamesRadar+ calls the figure "obviously unconfirmed" and says the account is "reasonably reliable."
• Polygon says the number appears to apply to the standard PS5 release.

What we still don't know

• Xbox Series X|S size: no figure yet (Polygon).
• Ultimate Edition: it isn't clear whether it needs more space (Polygon).
• Download vs. install: GamesRadar+ points out these can differ.
• Day-one patch: GamesRadar+ expects some kind of day-one update, and Insider Gaming warns it could add to the download. Neither outlet gives a size.
• PC: there's no announced PC version, so there's no PC size.

How it compares

Polygon, citing the same tracker, lists GTA V at 100 GB on PS5 and 95 GB on PS4. GamesRadar+ puts Red Dead Redemption 2 at 150 GB on PC. If the report holds, GTA 6 would be roughly double GTA V on PS5. It still wouldn't be the biggest install around: Polygon notes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 needs more than 300 GB on Xbox.

What to do now

• Free up space: clear at least 210 GB, plus some headroom for a patch and for the installer, which may need temporary space. Treat 210 GB as the minimum, not the exact total.
• Pre-load on Nov 12: pre-loading opens a week before the Nov 19 launch (GamesRadar+, Polygon). With a download this size, starting early is the safest way to play at launch.
• Check your drive: if your console is nearly full, decide what to uninstall now rather than on launch night.
