GTA 6 Frame Rate on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox

Rockstar hasn't published official frame-rate targets. Rob Nelson reportedly told Flow Games the consoles run GTA 6 at 30fps in this development period — and 60fps is a question for the tech team.

Rockstar hasn't published official frame-rate targets, but Rockstar North's Rob Nelson reportedly told Flow Games in August 2026 that the consoles run GTA 6 at 30fps "in this development period" and that a 60fps option is a question for the technical team.

What's official

GTA 6 is on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (all platforms). The PlayStation Store marks it "PS5 Pro Enhanced." Sony and Rockstar haven't said whether that means a higher resolution, a higher frame rate or something else.

What's reported

According to Flow Games, as relayed by Digital Foundry and others, Nelson said the console builds run at 30fps in this development period. He said he'd have to check with the technical team about a 60fps option at launch or later. He gave no resolution or ray-tracing details.

Digital Foundry's analysis (opinion from analysts)

Digital Foundry counted 30fps in the Extended Look and called GTA 6 a "30fps-first" design. It argues the simulation is CPU-heavy, and since every PS5 and Series console uses a similar 8-core Zen 2 CPU, a 60fps mode would be hard. That's analysis, not a Rockstar statement.
