⚠️ Spoiler warning, but not here: this article contains no story details from the leak. If you want to go into Grand Theft Auto VI fresh on November 19, be careful on social media today.
The leaker known as Cyberleek is back. Early Thursday morning, October 8, a roughly 25-minute video titled "GTA 6: An Extended Leek" began circulating online, according to reports from IGN, VGC, Dexerto, Insider Gaming and GamesRadar+. The title riffs on Rockstar's official "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look," which premiered on Netflix on August 27 before landing on YouTube hours later.
Dexerto reports the upload was a ZIP file of more than 370MB, and GTA community dataminer TexFunz2 put the figure at 367MB, per GamesRadar+. Cyberleek had been quiet since late August, after a run of leaked clips that started on August 18 and ran right up to the Netflix reveal. Notebookcheck reported earlier this week that a website possibly tied to the leaker had come back online with a new poll that closed today, which had fans bracing for exactly this.
WHAT OUTLETS SAY IS IN IT
We haven't watched the footage and won't be linking to it. Based on the reporting, the video mixes gameplay and cutscenes, and outlets including IGN and Gameranx warn it contains story spoilers. VGC says it has seen the footage and that it "appears to be authentic," and also notes that much of it features heavy nudity.
Here's where the rumor label matters. Several outlets, including GamesRadar+ and Insider Gaming, say the clips show first-person gameplay. Rockstar has not confirmed a first-person mode for GTA VI, so treat that as unconfirmed until Rockstar says otherwise. Dexerto also cautions that it remains unclear whether this upload comes from the same person or group behind August's leaks, and that the footage's authenticity "has not been independently verified."
According to VGC, the video ends with a message saying Cyberleek is collecting money for an unspecified "gaming related" project that is "not Rockstar related."
ROCKSTAR AND TAKE-TWO
As of this writing, neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has publicly commented on the October 8 video, as Dexerto also noted. After the August leaks, Take-Two filed DMCA subpoenas seeking information from Microsoft and Discord, and later X and YouTube, as IGN and VGC reported. Court filings at the time described its investigation as "rapidly evolving."
OUR TAKE
Rockstar's own Extended Look already showed far more polished gameplay than anything Cyberleek has put out. With launch six weeks away, the real risk now is spoilers rather than revelations. We'll update this story if Rockstar or Take-Two responds.
