Rockstar released the official launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI on Thursday morning, Oct 15. Rockstar posted it at 9:00 AM ET. It's short, about 90 seconds according to VGC and Polygon. It's built around a new song and recaps Jason and Lucia's setup for anyone just tuning in.

What's confirmed

  • The music: the trailer debuts "Flower in a Hurricane," a new standalone single by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar's own post calls the French duo Justice the game's "original score composers," and says the single is also on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.
  • The album: Rolling Stone UK reports Justice's full-length soundtrack comes out Nov 19, the same day as the game. Digital Foundry says CD and vinyl pre-orders are open; Rolling Stone UK doesn't mention formats or a pre-save, so check Rockstar's store before buying.
  • Captured on PS5: VGC reports Rockstar says the footage was captured entirely on PlayStation 5, and Radio Times notes a "Captured on PS5" card at the end. Neither says whether that's a base PS5 or a PS5 Pro.
  • Launch date: Nov 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What the trailer shows

Based on Polygon's and Radio Times' descriptions:

  • A prison phone call between Jason and Lucia, and the revelation that Jason left the Army early after unexplained trouble.
  • A run of heists, including one where Jason wears tactical, special-ops-style gear.
  • Wide shots across Leonida.
  • A few romantic moments between the pair, including a brief scene of them kissing in a shower. It's framed so nothing explicit is shown. Polygon notes the shot reveals that Lucia is still wearing an ankle monitor.

Is this the "Trailer 3" people expected?

Rockstar calls it the Launch Trailer, not Trailer 3. It follows Trailer 1 (Dec 2023), Trailer 2 (May 2025) and the 26-minute Extended Look on Netflix in August. Our GTA 6 trailers guide lists them all.

Reported: reviews before launch

Reported, not confirmed: Rockstar Report, citing Insider Gaming, says GTA VI reviews are planned to go live before Nov 19. Notebookcheck adds that insider NateTheHate says review copies go out before the end of October, and that the Insider Gaming story has since been taken down. Rockstar hasn't announced a review embargo. We'll update this if it does.
