What is sync licensing?

Sync licensing places your recorded music in TV, film, trailers, ads and games. You earn an upfront sync fee plus backend royalties through your PRO.

TAXI members receive industry listings from music supervisors, libraries, labels and agencies, submit their music, and TAXI's A&R screeners forward on-target submissions directly to the decision-maker. TAXI takes no percentage of deals.

What sync licensing actually is

A "sync" is short for synchronization — your recording synced to picture.

TV shows, films, trailers, commercials, video games, YouTube brand content. Anywhere music meets picture, someone got paid for the sync.

💵 The two paydays

An upfront sync fee for the placement itself, plus backend royalties collected through your Performing Rights Organization (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) every time it airs.

Supervisors need music that fits the scene exactly — right genre, right mood, broadcast quality, and you must own or control your master and copyright. Most artists never get heard because they pitch the wrong people.

Get forwarded

TAXI's genre-specific A&R screeners listen to every submission. When your music is on-target, it's forwarded directly to the supervisor, library, label or agency that asked for it. TAXI takes no percentage of any deal you land.
